Beschreibung: |
Due to their diverse metabolic processes, microorganisms are indispensable catalysts for all life processes on our planet. At the Institute of Biology, the Institute of Animal Sciences and the Hohenheim Center for Livestock Microbiome Research (HoLMiR) at the University of Hohenheim, we study anaerobic bacteria and phages, as well as microbial communities of the digestive tract. Our aim is to elucidate microbial metabolic processes in order to understand their impact on human, animal and environmental health. To this end, we use a broad spectrum of molecular biological, biochemical and spectroscopic methods as well as state-of-the-art imaging techniques.
You have a Master's degree in life sciences, bioinformatics, biotechnology or related disciplines. During your doctorate, you will benefit from a structured doctoral program, a graduate academy and career development opportunities at the University of Hohenheim. Joint seminars, an intensive scientific exchange between the participating working groups and opportunities for international networking will enable you to work at the highest level in an interdisciplinary manner.
Information on the main research areas of the participating research groups and contact addresses can be found here:
1. Focus: Prevotella, functional omics analyses, in vitro rumen simulation
